REVIEW ARTIKEL: TINJAUAN FITOKIMIA DAN AKTIVITAS FARMAKOLOGI TANAMAN GENUS CARICA

Carica merupakan salah satu genus dari famili Caricaceae yang memiliki potensi untuk pengembangan obat alami. Telah dilaporkan beberapa penelitian mengenai penggunaan genus Carica  yang diuji kandungan senyawa bioaktif dan aktivitas farmakologinya. Tujuan narrative review ini yaitu untuk mengetahui senyawa bioaktif dan aktivitas farmakologi tanaman dalam genus Carica. Penelitian ini mengguankan metode komparatif dengan mengumpulkan berbagai sumber yang didapat dari jurnal penelitian yang disajikan dalam bentuk deskriptif. Penelitian narrative review ini disusun dari pengumpulan data berupa artikel yang ditelusuri melalui database online Pubmed dan Google Scholar dimana didapatkan sebanyak 61 artikel dari PubMed dan 558 dari Google Scholar, kemudian disortir berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan kriteria eksklusi untuk dilakukan analisis secara deskriptif yang meliputi spesies tanaman, bagian tanaman yang digunakan, senyawa bioaktif, metode ekstraksi dan aktivitas farmakologi. Hasil analisis terhadap artilkel yang diperoleh menghasilkan data dari 20 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Dimana artikel yang telah dianalisis didapatkan dua spesies yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi pada narrative review, yaitu Carica papaya dan Carica pubescens. Pada ulasan ini ditemukan pada beberapa bagian tanaman memiliki aktivitas farmakologi dan senyawa bioaktif yang berbeda-beda. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahawa Carica terbukti menjadi genus yang bernilai ekonomis dan memiliki potensial sebagai alternatif pengobatan alami berdasarkan aktivitas farmakologinya yang beragam. Kandungan senyawa bioaktif yang telah diidentifikasi dalam spesies Carica papaya dan Carica pubescens, dinyatakan memiliki aktivitas farmakologi. Potensi tersebut dapat dijadikan acuan untuk pengembangan obat ahan alam dari tanaman genus Carica.
